Blood of Maqbool Bhat, Afzal Guru produced countless of heirs: JKDFP | KNO

Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Friday paid homage to what they said two great national heroes of Kashmir, Mohammad Afzal Guru of Sopore and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat of Trehgam, Kupwara. “By hanging first Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and then Mohammad Afzal Guru, in Tihar Jail, India had thought that it will kill and crush the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people, but the imprisonment of senior resistance leader Shabir Shah and others in the same infamous jail proves that Kashmiri people have strengthened their freedom struggle over the years,” JKDFP said in a statement issued to KNO. The spokespersons said the fact on ground is that the precious blood of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru has produced countless heirs. “Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru were martyred by hanging on February 11, 1984 and February 9, 2013 respectively. Both were buried in the same jail premises however Kashmiri nation is continuously demanding for their mortal remains and has not given up their demand and struggle,” he said. The spokesperson while paying tributes to the duo said that both are glorious chapters of the resistance history. “India not only hanged the two great sons of the Kashmiri soil, but also has kept their mortal remains under its custody,” he said. He said that Kashmiri people will continue to demand for their political rights and the mortal remains of their two great national heroes.(KNO)
